Well 2017 is now in full force! We have had some time off for the holidays and it is time to get back on the road to spread the Gospel in song. We may never get our name on a big, bright sign and that's okay because we would rather have our name in the Lamb's Book of Life. Our goal is to minister and spread the message of Christ in song and testimony. We would request your prayers as we seek to stay within the will of God for our ministry. Life gets so busy and we all have full time jobs so it can be tough at times. We pray for God to fill out fuel tanks so that we can fulfill where he would want our ministry to be. God's message is for all who will willing hear it. How long will God tarry before calling his children home? No one knows so we must live our lives for Christ as if today is the day. I have a question for you, would you rather be known for what you are against or for what you are for? Just ponder on that for a few minutes. Hey folks, time to go to bed! hahaha. Spread the word that Solid Foundation is Ready to Sing!
Hey folks, 2016 is nearly done. As I type we are only 6 days away from Christmas Day! Then only 7 days away after that for the New Year of 2017 to begin. As I reflect on our ministry year I am so grateful for the two people I get to travel, sing, eat with, laugh with, etc as we share in ministry. Jeff Pate is a special kind of person. You can always count on him making you smile or laugh in some way. Most importantly he lives what he sings about. Each word he sings comes from his heart for God's Kingdom. He don't do bad singing bass either!!! He is also my load-in and load-out buddy. Ellen Treadwell is another special person as well in this ministry. She does her best to keep Jeff and I in line as we travel around and sing. She also tells it like it is with no bones about it! She also lives what she sings as well. Talk about singing, she sho can sing the glory down! We have sung together long enough now that we can anticipate what the other is about to do either in a song or during a service we are a part of and that is pretty important. Without chemistry it will not work. We must give God the glory on that because without him this ministry would be nothing!! As of the time of this particular blog we currently only have one booking set up for 2017 and that is in July. Needless to say we would like to have more than one booking for next year! So feel freek to share our information with your pastor or music minister. Also speaking of next year, we are looking to be in a good spot to put out another recording in the first half of 2017. Also I can not go any further without thanking all of our family members. We are all blessed with great support from our families and that is very important to our ministry. Well that is about it, just help spread the word that Solid Foundation would love to come worship with churches for benefits, homecoming services or just regular worship services. TO those prayer warriors that lift our ministry up in prayer, all we can say is Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Remember we as Christians are call to "Go and make disciples." not to stay in our pew and be comfortable! God Bless everyone!
Well 2016 is coming to a close and it was a great year. The Lord lead us to some new places to minister and lead us back to some familiar places. Whether is it was a large crowd or a smaller crowd, we were able to worship our Risen Savior. Our main focus was and always will be ministry-minded in nature. As many of you know, we do around 18 bookings per year. Some have said why do you only do that many, why not do more dates each year. Let me go back to the start. We just got together once to practice a song or two to sing during our Worship service one Sunday. God has taken this ministry where he wants it to be. We all work full time jobs outside of this ministry. We all have families as well, some with grandchildren now! We also value time at our home church to serve there as well. Why do you only have one CD? Well we have always said and prayed to do one when God says it is ready. It has never been about us as a group but about glorifying God! All that said 2016 was a great year for the ministry. We had some interesting happenings throughout the year. We had our first "double-header" back in May by singing on Sunday morning and Sunday night. We experienced some sound system in the later part of the year, more than likely due to human error! LOL! Never a dull moment when you travel and sing. Now for 2017! As of now we are set to go back to Bethel Campground for their Campmeeting in July 2017. Also we trying to target Spring 2017 for another CD release. We are praying about what songs to include and looking for some original songs to possibly record as well. As always we are looking to God for guidance in all the we do. We have so many folks that support us on a regular basis by way of prayers. It truly means so much to our ministry. In our time together as a ministry we have had churches have a special prayer time for our ministry but we have also had the honor to be a part of special prayer time for folks in some of the services we are booked to be a part of. Prayer, such a powerful tool of communication for Christians. Again back to 2017, we only have 1 booking for now. Will we get more? God knows that answer and will reveal the answer to our ministry in his timing. As we enter another year we would request your prayers. Also if we are close to your area and you are able to make it out, familiar faces are such a blessing during a service. Also pray for our families as well. Our children and spouses have to deal with some time away. Just know that we love you all and look forward to seeing you in 2017. Remember that God has been so good to us all! Until the next blog entry be blessed and remember that Jesus said "Go and make disciples!"
As we have never had a blog this will be a work in progress for sure. We do not know how often we will post or what topics we will cover. We may share our thoughts on a particular bible passage, we may provide exciting ministry updates, we may share funny stories from the road. Your thoughts and feedback are always welcome. That' all for now. God Bless and keep our ministry in your prayers.
